Groothuijse de Boer Architecten
Groothuijse de Boer is an architectural practice based in Amsterdam. Established in 2017, Tjerk and Benjamin are working on a diverse range of projects while at the same time teaching in the Netherlands and abroad.
Collaborating with people from in- and outside the profession, Groothuijse de Boer tries to develop productive means to engage the demands put on architectural practice today, while building projects that answer to contemporary issues ranging from the environmental to the representational.
Tjerk de Boer
Tjerk studied architecture at Aalto University Helsinki and the TU Delft. His graduation project was nominated for the National Archiprix 2014. He gained professional experience as a project architect at KAAN Architecten in Rotterdam. He teaches architectural design at the Rotterdamse Academie van Bouwkunst.
Benjamin studied architecture at the ETH Zurich and the TU Delft. He gained professional experience at the offices of Peter Zumthor and von Ballmoos Krucker in Switzerland. He currently teaches as an assistent to the chair of Adam Caruso at the ETH Zurich. As a guest teacher he is connected to the TU Delft and the Rotterdamse Academie van Bouwkunst.
